Florida native Monica Kile has been giving historic tours of St. Petersburg for since 2007. She has twice served as the Executive Director of the local preservation organization, and writes extensively on local history, land development, and current events for multiple publications and media platforms. Since 2021 she has served as writer, tour guide, and historian for Tampa Bay’s largest social media outlets, I Love The Burg and That’s So Tampa.
She has her undergraduate in Communications from Florida State University and her Masters in Liberal Arts in Florida Studies with a specialization in heritage tourism from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. In addition to her published work she has written organizational histories for the St. Petersburg YMCA and Gulf Coast Jewish and Family Services.
She currently serves on the boards of The Studio@620, the St. Petersburg Waterfront Parks Foundation, and 100 Women Who Care.
She lives in St. Petersburg with her husband and their two children.
